Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

I love Christmas!!!
We have had a really good Christmas and I have been very well too but when Julie came to take my blood on Boxing Day the results were not good enough for me to start treatment again so I am having another break for a week. Mummy is quite pleased about that though because I have a cough and a cold and she hopes that in a week I may be alot better.
We have been able to do loads because I have been well. We went to see Beauty and the Beast at the theatre which was really good and then went to Enchanted at the cinema too and I loved that. I have been for lots of bike rides with my sister and even fell into a muddy puddle but couldn't get up because I was laughing so much!
Emily and I are riding with Debbie again tomorrow and I have really missed the ponies over Christmas so I am going to take them a carrot each to say happy Christmas!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I am sooooooooooooooo excited. Mummy and Daddy say I have been very well behaved and I havn't lost any presents for being naughty (yet) and (hopefully) I will be getting lots of presents so I am very happy. Merry Christmas everybody and thank you all very much for leaving me messages this year. There are some people I don't know like Max and Katty so thank you to you both too.
My hair has all come out again so I am really pleased I have my new wig. Pete (the man who made it for me) gave me a voucher for Claires accessories so I bought some nice hair bands to wear with it which go with my outfits.
I am very pleased with myself this week because now that I don't have my nose tube anymore I have to take my medicines in my mouth and do you know what I have been doing????? Well I have learnt how to take the tablets whole washed down with a glass of water and it is so easy and takes only a second but before it used to take about half an hour for each one!
Love Mima

A REALLY GREAT DAY
Today has been a really great day and do you know why????? I went in to hospital to have a blood test and deliver all the Christmas presents and then I took my nose tube out!!! That means I can eat a meal without it being uncomfortable in the back of my throat (but it also means I have to take the stupid medicines in my mouth again - yukkkkkk!)
The other really good news is my blood results were good enough for me to be able to go to Flicks in the Sticks tomorrow and Beauty and the Beast on Saturday. Yippeeeeee!!!
I am just having my pudding now as I have eaten loads of steak, chips, carrots and broccoli. Yummy, what shall I have for pudding? Choc chip cookie, flake choc mousse, ice cream, lollie, meringue or all of it?!?!?
Toodle pip.

Only 7 days until Christmas, then 6 tomorrow and then 5, then 4, 3, 2, 1 and then yippedy doodah it is Christmas day!!! Not that I am excited or anything!
It has been really cold today and as my hair is falling out again I have had a very cold head - why does that have to happen at Christmas, just when it is getting cold. I bet it will snow soon just when I have no hair left at all.
I am eating my supper, guess what it is................pasta with broccoli and carrots and I have made some strawberry whip for pudding. Emily and I have been to the Jefferson's for lunch today and played with those naughty boys and their gerbils Hercules and something. We all had pancakes for pudding which were yummy.
I hope all the nurses are excited because I am going to Ward 27 tomorrow with my sack of presents (well, wheelchair full cos I can't carry them all!) Ho Ho Ho!!!

The Christmas holidays have started!!!

I am so pleased that the holidays have started but I feel pretty rubbish so am sorry that it is always in the holidays when I feel ill. I had some friends to play after school today and we watched a christmas movie and now Lily is staying for a sleepover. I am sooooo tired that I think we will have to go straight to sleep.

Lily is coming riding with me tomorrow (yeah!) I hope it won't be too cold. We have all our clothes ready and thermals too. Last week Emily and I got sooooo wet and cold but we still really loved it!

We have put our tree up at home and Em and I have put one up in the playroom too. We even have some presents under the tree and I am very excited. My Granpa came round tonight to give us his presents because he is away for Christmas and he gave me a top and a scarf from my favourite shop Monsoon. They are both really really nice. Well done Granpa!!!

I have a few days off from treatment now so my bloods can recover after the last three weeks of chemo. I am not feeling too good so Mummy thinks I will probably need some more blood next week. I will have a blood test on Wednesday to see and then if the results are ok I will start the next block of treatment on boxing day which is chemo every day for two weeks with a couple of days off in the middle. Yuk yuk yuk. Oh yes, I am back on steroids too so that makes you feel cross and hungry.

I just picked up my new wig!!!
We are just home from Birmingham and got my new wig which has been made especially for me by a very nice man called Pete who is part of Little Princesses Trust. They make the shape of your head with clingfilm and sellotape and then send it to America for making into a wig with real hair on it. I really love it and it is so comfy and not itchy like the other wig I had.
Pete is very kind and he gave Emily and me a voucher for £10 to spend in Claire's Accessories so we went there and had a really fun time.
I am going to the Christmas panto with my class tomorrow morning and Mummy is coming too. We are going to see 101 Dalmations and I am excited about that. We have to take a packed lunch so I just don't know what I will eat.
I am going to hospital again on Thursday for some more chemo. This one makes my wee pink so it is really funny! I don't think I will feel very well afterwards as it makes me feel sick so I don't think I will go to school again until next week.
