Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

I am really well!
Apart from just a few aches and pains. I have been very busy, helping out at the riding stables but I was very tired yesterday because I had so much to do. I fell over a couple of times but I am ok. I am going to do two full days next week because there are pony days at the stables and Debbie needs lots of help.
We have had a fantastic day today. It was the Kirby and Desford Tennis Tournament for the juniors and Emily and I both played. It was really fun and we had a swim afterwards then yummy tea and a disco. At the end of the day I had a really big treat because the lady who lives at the house where we had tea has a tiny pony and trap and I had a ride on it, it was great fun. Mummy wants to get a trap so Digby can take us for rides!
I am going to have some IV chemo on Wednesday and start the dreaded steroids again for 5 days - yuk, yuk, yuk. I am going to see Dr Madi aswell and I am going to tell him about my sore ankles and my arm which hurts again now. Last time I saw him he thought it would be a good idea to have an xray to see what my bones look like so maybe I will have that this week. Who knows?

Hi Mima! I'm glad your so well, as you hadn't posted for a while I thought it could mean you are very well or you weren't well... I'm very glad its the former. You've been a busy bee! A tennis tournament, swimming and a disco - I bet you were shattered at the end of the day. I am a bit tired because Morgan and Scooby wake me too early in the morning... 6am today, 5am another morning... grrr what will I do with them??!! Digby taking you for rides... what next??!! Tell us how that goes I'm intrigued.
Good luck for the IV chemo on Wednesday, will think of you lots and will count down the days until you are off your steroids. Look after yourself and lots of love, Kathryn xXx
P.S. Morgan's MOT went ok though it took us ages to get him in his carrier he was clinging onto my mum's skin, ouch! He had his trademark sulk after the experience (he lies out and puts his chin on the floor) but quickly came round when he smelt his fish. He's recovered well... last night he was chasing a squirrel up a telegraph pole...

I know how much you love riding which of you can't do at the moment so helping out at the stables is important to you I'm sure. I imagine you enjoy it alot.So you play tennis aswell. How's the golf coming along get? Have you had anymore lessons? If you said you havn't had time I wouldn't be surprised.
I hope all goes well with the chemo I'm sure it will.hope the 5 days of steroids passes quickly.
Thinking of you always
Love Sue

Hi Mima,
You're great to be helping so much at the riding stables - I bet they really appreciate it - when you've finished is there any chance of helping me in my garden which looks like a jungle? We had a little trap when I was younger and I used to love trotting through the villages - I'd love to see Dig-Dog in one! Hope to see you this week - love to all at home and big hug to you, Jemma Ef xxx

Hi Mims Auntie Jax here, sorry I haven't been on your blog for such a long time. I have been thinking about you. Can you ask Mummy when you are free to meet up. Daisy & Archie would like to meet you for lunch one day in the holidays. So pleased to hear you are feeling well at the moment. How is the hair doing? We all played in a tennis tournament too on Sunday - it was fun. See you really soon. Lots of love Auntie Jax

HI MIMA,
I'M SO GLAD I'VE FOUND YOU AGAIN!
I WONDERED WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH YOUR BLOG AS EVERYTIME I CLICKED ON IT SAID 'EASYSPACE' ??? I'V JUST FOUND YOU AGAIN ON THE 'JUST GIVING' WEBSITE AFTER TYPING YOUR NAME IN MY SEARCH ENGINE!!
ANYWAY, I'M GLAD YOU'RE FEELING WELL AT THE MOMENT, APART FROM A FEW ACHES & PAINS. I'LL BE THINKING ABOUT YOU TOMORROW WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR IV CHEMO AND YOUR STEROIDS, YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET THROUGH IT.
ALFIE HAS GOT TO GO INTO HOSPITAL ON FRIDAY TO HAVE GROMMITS FITTED IN HIS EARS, BUT THE THING IS...HE SAID HE'D LIKE TO STAY IN FOR A WEEK AND HE'S ONLY GOT TO STAY IN FOR HALF A DAY!!
HE'S SO EXCITED ABOUT THE WHOLE THING!
WELL THE BOYS FINISH SCHOOL TOMORROW, SO WERE OFF TO THE CARAVAN ON SUNDAY, SO IT MAY BE A WHILE BEFORE I CAN WRITE AGAIN AS I DON'T THINK I CAN USE MY LAPTOP WHERE WE'RE GOING, BUT I'LL TAKE IT WITH ME JUST INCASE!
TAKE CARE MIMA,
LOSTA LUV,
MAX.

Dear Mima
Hope it goes well tomorrow we'll be thinking of you. You really are still being so brave, I hope they stop your arm from feeling sore too and the dreaded steroids don't make you feel too bad. Uncle Edward said you were marvellous playing tennis and I thought Emily was jolly good too. Glad you enjoyed the pony and trap it looked great fun and I'd love to see Digby pull the trap he was as big as that pony!
We're all looking forward to seeing you soon.
Much love Auntie Nic Nocs & Uncle Edward

Hi Mima,
I am sorry that I haven't written for ages, I tried to yesterday but your site was not coming up when I tried?
You looked so fantastic over the past couple of weekends, Thomas and Hannah really enjoyed playing with you and you and Emily are so brilliant with them both.
Well done with the tennis as well and all that swimming, you must be feeling so tired this week, at least there is no school hey.
Whilst I write this you will be in hospital, I hope it has all gone well and that Dr Madi can sort your aches and pains out.
Really looking forward to seeing you all again, Lots of love Venetia, Paul Thomas & Hannah. XXX

Hey Mima! Jan asked me to pop in and leave you a comment, as she's away for a few days. Bet my pooch Tank is bigger than your Digby! He's over 38 inches tall at the shoulder and still growing ... I'm thinking of building him a stable. ;o)

Hope all went well with the chemo and the steroids ** sympathetic shudders **. I know just what you're going through but it's all worth it in the end.

Take care, and give Digby a pat from me, please.

Lynn.
