Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Wednesday 15th October 2008

Something really weird happened at school today. I was playing upstairs with my friends one minute and then I don't know what happened but I found myself outside in the playground and I had missed lunch and didn't know where I had been or what I had been doing. It was very scary. Mummy picked me up from school early and we spoke to the hospital about it. It was this time last year that I had a brain seizure so I don't know if that happened again today. We are going to ask a few people at school tomorrow to see if we can piece it all together but I don't like what happened at all. The hospital said to make sure someone is with me all the time so I am never on my own just in case anything else happens. I just want to get on with my life and be normal.
I have just finished steroids for 5 days but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as last time. I still felt pretty horrid but I was able to go out and about. We went to the horse of the year show on Sunday and that was great fun. I particularly liked the pony club games, they were so funny.
It is half term on Friday for 2 weeks, can't wait.

Poor, poor you. That sounds really horrible and frightening. You are having to put up with so many nasty things. I think if everybody knows what happened, and someone is always with you, you will feel alot better.

Hurry up half term and then there won't be so much racing around.

William, Edward and Millie's cousins are coming in half term. One of them is a baby and can you guess what his first word was - Gogo! (He has got three brothers who are collecting them!) 4 boys in one family - can you imagine that!

Hello Jemima.

Just been catching up with your blog. Today sounds very peculiar - must have been really scary for you poppet. I think a constant buddy is a lovely idea - will give you (and Mummy and Daddy) more peace of mind.

Well, Sam and Clare have settled into LGJS really well and everybody is very friendly. Sam seems to have HEAPS of homework though (or maybe that is just Year 5 generally?). Sam isn't in the same class as your cousin Tom after all. He is, however, pals with a super boy called Giles who used to go to Little Acorns with you. Plus, Clare is best friends with his sister Liberty. I don't know if you remember them?

Anyway. We're still thinking about you often. Say 'hi' to everyone from us.

Speak soon.

Heather (& Sam & Clare) xx

To Mima, You must have been really scared. I really feel for you because I have had seizures and when you don’t know what has happened to you it is very very confusing and frightening. It is best if you have always someone just for the time being, though I know it must be a real pain though you'll always have someone to talk to and keep you company won't you??!!
Half term for 2 weeks – I can’t believe it it doesn’t seem 5 minutes ago that you just started back after summer!! Are you doing anything special?
I'm at uni at the moment and am supposed to be working but I much prefer writing you a little message. Thinking about you and hoping you are ok... love Kathryn xXx
P.S. Scooby got shut in my parents bedroom when we went out last weekend and by the time we had come back had scratched the carpet up trying to get out and bits of it was shredded all over the floor. We were very glad he hadn't needed the toilet and weed on it though lol. x

Hi Mima,
What a horrid thing to happen on Wednesday, not nice at all to wake up wondering what has happened. I hope that you are feeling a bit better for the weekend. I used to go to the horse of the year show when I was little, I loved it, such good fun, I really likes the professional show jumpers because you just can't believe how high the jumps are.
Sorry that I haven't written for a while. no excuse really but I have been potty training Hannah so I have had my beady eye on her all day, so boring but she is getting they .......slowly!
Have a lovely half term and hope to see you very soon.
Lots of love Venetia :) XX

Watcha Mima!!
I was talking to your mum the other day, and she said how well you are doing, I am so pleased!!
Sorry about that "blip" at school though, it must be horrible to just loose time like that... never mind, I know that you are a fighter, and that all will be back to normal one of these days.
And I hear that you are doing the ballet show this year? How fabulous, I can't wait. I shall look out for you, and am certain that I shall manage the headresses for you some how.
Take lots of care, and keep well,
Love Sarah xxx

what an awful experience you had.Anyway you came through and if someone is always with you it won't happen again. One day not ,not so far off you will be back to normal. You have been and are being so brave.Try not to worry. You have done amazingly and come such a long way through all the treatment.
Pleased to hear you enjoyed the horse of the year show.I can imagine how beautiful those horses are.
I guess half term has started.Relax a bit if thats possible for a live wire like you.
Lots of love
