Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Thursday 11th September

My first week back at school was great. Being in year 5 is sooooo cool! I have a lovely teacher called Mrs Hayden and she is really kind. We are in the senior building now and have to be very grown up!
I AM ON STEROIDS AND FEEL HORRIBLE!!! My legs hurt, my head hurts, my face is all red and my eyes are sore. I feel really tired and totally rubbish.
I am doing my homework which is really hard and I don't want to do it.
I could do with some letters from Postpals to cheer me up.
French homework to do now but I don't think I will go to school in the morning because I feel YUK!
No colours because I don't feel like it.

Oh Mima, sorry that your feeling so unwell, those steroids are so horrid, not long now until you will never have them again.
I was hoping that no news was good news, but hopefully you will be back on your feet again.
I am glad that school is going well, does it feel very strange without Emily there?
Fingers x to you feeling better soon, all my love Venetia XXX

Dear Mima

When I have seen you at school this week I have been thinking that you are looking so georgeous with your new hair. I am sorry I am wrong and that you look so lovely, but feel so awful. I hope that next time you write you look lovely and feely lovely! Love the Greenlees

Silly me. I have written look lovely and feely lovely and I meant look lovely and feel lovely. Anyway, its a bit of a tongue twister and it has gone past midnight,so I had better get to bed before I turn into a pumpkin or something worse! Or maybe I will have sore eyes and a red face too. If you see me in the morning you can let me know how I am looking!! The Greenlees again x

Hello Mima! It's not good that you are feeling quite yuk at the moment. Like Venetia said though you've only got a little way to go until you finally don't have to take them anymore - then you can have a big party to celebrate!
It must be really really hard to do your homework when you are not feeling so good - I used to find it hard to do homework and I felt fine! Just do your best, that's all you can do after all isn't it... I sooo hope that you feel better and are able to get off those steroids asap. Glad you like being in yr 5 and having to be all grown up.
I see that you have got a new friend in Slovenia! WOW you are popular aren't you?! Are you planning that round the world trip that your going on to see everyone?
Look after yourself and I hope that Emily is liking her new school.
Love Kathryn xXx
P.S. Tomorrow we are taking Morgan and Scooby to the cattery because we are going for a late summer holiday to Jersey. We haven't told the boys yet and they are in blissful ignorance. We are a bit worried because when they get up in the morning we won't be able to let them out and they (especially Morgan) will go mad. Then we have to fight to get them in their carriers (and no doubt Morgan will put up his big fights) and they will meow all the way to the cattery to make us feel guilty for leaving them so please wish us luck because I think we'll need it.
P.P.S. if you write next week I won't be able to leave a comment (because I am away) so please don't think I have forgotten you. I will be thinking of you x

Hi Mima! Me again! I just wanted to tell you that if you have the Leicester Mercury some time this week there is a Prize Pet supplement and I've entered Morgan and Scooby in it so they'll be in there! Did you enter Digby in it?? Also I don't know whether you've heard of it but not this Saturday but the Saturday after there is a Dog Agility Day at Huncote - Leicestershire Animal Aid. Perhaps you could show Digby's tricks off there? Its on Saturday the 20th. Well... just a thought anyway if you have nothing to do... Lots of love again Kathryn xXx

We had Matt and he was really nice to us and didn't shout even when the other girl's rudder came of and she maneged to get the mast off AGAIN!!!!!!(we were shallow so we got the rudder back). I hope Emily is having a great time at Oakham, I feel really young as she is at secondary school already, tell I hope she is having a great time

I hope you're feeling a bit better after the week end and that you're back at school today? It's so weird that these things that are doing you good make you feel so bad - but I guess that's what you keep telling yourself - you don't need me to remind you! Anyway, I can't believe you're year 5 - or is it that I can't believe you're only Y5? Are there any new children this term? The boys see Emily and - don't tell Mummy - but she's always chatting! (They don't see her in her lessons!) Think she's having a good time. Really hope to see you soon - did you manage to wash all the mud off from Burghley? That was fun wasn't it. All love, Jemma Eff xxx
