Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

We're Back!!!

This is me and Emily with my cousins Kianna and Lauren on holiday in Devon

We have just come home from just over 2 weeks away and had a really fun holiday. It rained, it was windy, it was cold and I think I remember the sun came out once but we still did loads. We body boarded, sailed, swam, crabbed, fished, cooked mussels on the beach again and even had a picnic in the woods yesterday where we had to collect the wood to make a fire and then cooked sausages, ribs and burgers followed by a game of kick the can!

I have felt well most of the time apart from when I was on steroids and my legs and ankles have not hurt too much. My blood results were a bit low last week so I have not had any chemo at all since last Tuesday so Mummy hasn't had to wake me up to take pills so that has been really good. I will have another blood test tomorrow to see what I will be on this week.

Only one more week before I go back to school and in to a new class and the senior part of the school. I am very excited and Emily says my teacher is really nice. Emily starts her new school on Friday and I am going to really miss her.

Hi Mima,
It sounds as though you have had the best time and have filled your 2 weeks away to the brim. Shame about the weather but I think as long as your feeling well and have lots of friends and family around who needs sunshine!!
I can't believe it is time to go back to school, where have the holidays gone? Thomas and Hannah are starting at their new pre-school on Thursday, only another year before Thomas starts 'big' school so we are getting him in training.
I hope that Mummy, Daddy and Emily are well, send them my love and hope to see you really soon. Lots of love Venetia. XX

Hey Mima! It sounds like you’ve been really busy even if the sun only made a brief appearance! - Did you have time to sleep in between enjoying yourself? It sounds like you had a fantastic time and I’m really pleased. Did Digby enjoy his holiday too? When you get back to school you will have some things to tell everyone – I bet most of the children in your class just did the boring stuff like shopping and swimming and my holiday from university hasn’t been a patch on yours!! It must have been so nice to see your cousins, aunty and uncle after so long.
I hope Emily likes her new school. It is a bit sad when your sis leaves your school but just think – soon you will be following her! You’ll get used to it without her in no time. I was quite relieved when my sis left the Juniors when I went up to year 4 (all those years ago) because it meant she couldn’t boss me round anymore in the day!!
Hope you enjoy your last week of freedom before you go back to school,
Love always, Kathryn xXx
P.S. Morgan too but especially Scooby have been right lazy this week. They had slept all day so I went and woke them up and lifted them off their bed (nasty Katty). I put Scooby on the landing and went down to feed Morgan because he had run into the kitchen. About half and hour later I went upstairs to see where Scooby had gone to because he hadn’t appeared. There he was lying back on his bed fast asleep like he had never been moved – lazy rascal!

hi
good to hear you had a wonderful holiday.I'm sure you weren't to worried about the weather having special guests made up for not having sunshine. You seemed to do so much anyway.I love the photograph thanks for putting it on the blog.
I hope school has gone well so far and that Emily has settled in.I can imagine she was a bit nervous on her first day.
I'm going to check the Leicester Mercury now to see if I can see your picture.
Lots of love

Hi Mima,
Your holiday sounds so amazing!! I'd love to body board. When I went to Devon it was pretty wet as well but its great especially if you go with your friends. Me and my best friend stayed in a cottage without my parents - it was really exciting. I am glad you are feeling so good and I hope that you enjoy school. I'm going into year 11 on monday and I'm a little scared about it. There is loads of work. I read your profile on PostPals and decided to check out your blog. Its very colourful :P

Hello Mima,
I came to your blog through postpals and postcrossing before that... The reason you caught my eye is that you are about the same age as my daughter Masa.
It seems you are having a really good time. I hope you enjoy school as well. I like your blog!
Best wishes from Slovenia.
