Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

I am feeling good at the moment!

Tomorrow I am going in to hospital to have a general anaesthetic for a lumbar puncture which is where the doctor takes some spinal fluid and gives me some chemo into my spine. It is all over quite quickly and doesn't really hurt very much. I have to be nil by mouth though and be in hospital for 8.30 am. The worst bit is waiting until I go in to theatre because you just don't know when it will be. I hope I will be first on the list and then I don't have to wait too long. When I wake up, I have to lie down for at least an hour so that the chemo doesn't give me a massive headache. I usually watch a movie so Mummy has bought me a new one to take in called Game Plan.

I hope I will see some of my friends on the ward tomorrow, it is much better if there are people there you know. Maybe Lulu is in for an LP too or Ruby? Who knows.

I know I have missed sending you a message before you go into hospital but 'good luck' anyway. Glad to see some colour back and your cheerful optimism of seeing friends on the ward. I know it is hard to be positive all the time, especially when you are as ill as you are but you spur others to try their best when they see your brightness. I hope to soon read that all went well at the hospital and you are back up and about.
Sending positive thoughts your way
Claire.

Hi Mima! I really hope the LP went ok? I also wish you to have a nice Wednesday and hopefully it will as good as last Wednesday and you can go to school. As I write this Scooby is on my knee. He wants to say something: uyh j
He wrote it with his own paws. Apparently it means "hello" in cat language. ...he's now jumped off my knee and is sitting by his food bowl - typical. I am not talking to Morgan because he brought another mouse in last night as well as the other mice and robin - what shall I do with him?
Lots of love Kathryn xXx

I hope you are first too and that you do not have to wait too long.

Have you ever seen the DVD Annie? I think you might like it and if you think you would I could give it to Mummy to borrow. If you need any new DVDs you could drop in and borrow one when you are passing. We could be like your new DVD library (but you wouldn't have to pay!)

I hope tomorrow is not too bad.

Love the Greenlees

Hi Mima
I haven't written for ages but that doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about you. I really hope Monday went well and I'm sure you will be home now and even back to school (probably much more fun than being in the LRI). Hope the sun is making you feel chirpy and as always lots of love, Helenxxx

Hi there.I hope you are feeling well and enjoying today Wednesday your favourite.October 1 not long and it will be Christmas.Halloween before that and I'm sure you have something planned.
Granny sent me photographs of you all on holiday. It was so lovely to see the family together.
Its beginning to get quite warm in this part of South Africa.Looks as though we might have a very hot summer.Although at the other end of the country,in the Cape, they have had the most rain in 52 years.I suppose its got something to do with this global warming every one is worried about.
I do hope you are OK and look forward to reading your next update.
Lots of love
Sue
