Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

We're Home!
I don't know what is wrong with my leg but the doctor thinks it could be the steroids that have made my bones hurt. I had an x-ray this morning which was fine so no more broken bones. I start steroids again on Wednesday for another 7 days so I will just have to take lots of pain killers whilst I am taking the steroids and see if that is ok.
Anyway, I am much better now and can walk again so feel much happier too. I am seeing Mr Kershaw again on Wednesday to take my plaster off and have another x-ray on my elbow and shoulder and hopefully it will be ok to leave the plaster off if the bones have mended properly but if not he said he will put another plaster on and wait until it mends. Other than that, more dr ruby's in and vin and christine on Wednesday and that should be it for the week.
Thank you everyone for your messages again.

Hi Mima, so pleased you are home, i think that you bed always feels extra cosy when you have been in a hospital bed, especially for Mummy, those camp beds are not good!
Fingers crossed for your plaster coming off and hope that it stays off.
Good luck also with your treatment for this week. Thomas sends a big x and we all do too. Lots of love Venetia, Paul, Thomas and Hannah. XXX

Hola Mima
Hope everything goes well with your arm. I have got my case out and am sorting out clothes to take to Chicago. It can be very cold or hot so I shall need a variety. I have not seen Mark and Courtney since last Christmas, so am excited. I shall send you a message from Chicago, I see you have had one from Uncle Simon who also keeps in touch with Mark. I am always thinking of you and send you lots of hugs and kisses.
Adios Rita

Hi Mima! I'm so glad you are home and out of White Coat City for the time being! I will keep my fingers (and arms) crossed that you can get your plaster off on Wednesday it must be getting to be a real pain. I hope you leg doesn't hurt so much now? It's not very nice but it will all end soon and I think you are very patient and brave. I had an appointment at the hospital on Wednesday too so I thought I'd keep an eye out for you but its been rearranged for a few weeks time so I can't.
Morgan wasn't very well because he was sick last night all over our nice sofa - yuk! We think he must have eaten a dodgey mouse (double-yuk!). Well I'm sure you have lots to do so I won't keep chattering away. Lots of love to you, Kat xXx

hi there glad the leg is a bit less painful and that you are feeling a little better. At least you are at home now which helps I would think.I hope all goes well with you arm and that the plaster doesn't need to be put on again.
Granny sent me some photographs of you and Emily. She posted them last year in October and something went wrong and they got sent back to England.I collected them from the post office today 6 months after they were first posted. The pictures are beautiful and well worth waiting for.
Lots of love always thinking of you

Hi Mima
I am sorry you are having a really horrible time. I have been thinking about things you could do whilst you haven't got any energy and no arm to use. How about this ... Have you got any walkie talkies?? If you haven't then they are quite good - you can give one to Mummy/Daddy/Emily/Granny etc and then have one yourself. If you need anything or want to tell anyone anything to can call them on it and speak to them. Also you can hide with them and take them on walks etc or if you go on a trip with friends and you drive near to them - they can have one in their car and you can talk to them as you are going along, so if you spot something you can all see it!! See what Mummy thinks. Love the Greenlees

I also had another couple of ideas, but the last message was so long I thought I had better do two messages. Here they are ...... Is Digby good and does he do tricks? If he doesn't maybe you could train him to do some fun things - you might have to get a book and look up what to do. I think you have to be quite patient, but good luck. Maybe you could play the keyboard, because it will play alot for you. It does all sorts of lovely songs and rhythms for you and you could make up tunes with your left hand. It makes cow noises and doors slamming and there are loads of buttons to press. I wish we could lend you ours, but William has to practice piano on it at the moment, because the piano didn't come to our rented house with us, because the house is too small for a piano!! I'll keep thinking of other things in case you don't like my ideas so far. Love the Greenlees xx
