Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Tuesday 27th November 2007

Mima's blood results were very good yesterday so we are off to hospital now to start the next 8 week block of treatment. She will have a general anaesthetic this morning for a bone marrow aspirate and intrathecral methotrexate and start 5 days of steroids today too. Tomorrow she will have a couple of hours of two different types of chemo and on Thursday the asparagus and mayonnaise intramuscular chemo. All in all, quite a large blast of chemo this week to keep those pesky leukaemia cells at bay.

Hi - Saw your Mum's car at the LRI this morning so I guessed you had started another course of chemo. I know it's yuk but hang on in there. How thoughtful of your blood cells to wait until after exams were over before it was safe enough to go in for the next batch of treatment!!!!! Anyway we're thinking of you as always. Keep tucked up and warm and get Mummy to call if there is anything you or she wants. Hx

Oh My...
I leave your blog site for a moment and look what you have got up to!!!
What a fantastic time you must have had in London... HOW FAB!! The girls will be wildly jealous.. sorry there is no other word for it... whan I tell them. Come to think of it I am too, how cool to be on the set with all those stars, and to be lifted up by such a gorgeous hunk.. mind you he would never have managed to lift me!!
Hold on to those fabulous memories, especially now that you are in hospital again.. on those really rotten days lovely memories like that can keep you going and looking forward to all the lovely new memories you are going to be making as soon as you are out again!!
Any way Lovely Mima, keep smiling, gorgeous, and cheerful, and tell mummy to call me if there is anything you need in the Italian food department, or one of my big gushy hugs.. love and kisses to you all, Sarah, and Lino and the girls too!

Hope you are ok this week and the chemo is not making you feel to yucky.
Have you been making your riding lessons?
Not long until you break up for Christmas now, you and Emily must be so excited.
I have got 21 people for Christmas lunch.....yikes!! I am frantically baking mince pies although I don't even like them!
Thinking of you always Mima.

I cannot believe you know Alesha, Kelly, Matt, Gethin etc. Kelly's my favourite, and Fred's. I'm very fed up she's left. Gethin's Henry's favourite. Melanies is Matt.
