Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Hello Everyone!

I am feeling much better now and am getting used to having my tube.

I was not very well at the beginning of last week. The chemo made me sick and the new feed I was on was too rich for my tummy so I felt very poorly. I went into hospital on Thursday morning and came home yesterday lunchtime. I felt really horrible after I woke up from the anaesthetic on Tuesday and I did not like having the tube in my nose so I tried to pull it out! My throat really hurt and i was so scared that if I talked or sneezed or coughed that the tube would come out so i decided not to talk until Saturday! I had a very nice man come to see me called a psychologist and he did a very clever magic trickwith cards to try to take my mind off my tube. He also said he would help me with my bad dreams, so I like him alot.
The nurses were very kind to me and Mummy. They taught Mummy how to feed me through my tube so now I can have a bag of feed running for 10 hours overnight whilst I am asleep - how cool is that??? when I wake up I am really full!! I can also have all of my medicines in my tube and I can do that myself without any help.
I have been to school today so I am very tired now but I will have a feed now and put my feet up to watch a bit of tv before Emily comes home.

Hi Jemima,
Sorry you had such a bad time last week but really glad you are feeling much better again.
Fantastic that you are starting to learn to play the violin - a very smart violin too!! When you have had a few more lessons you will have to play a tune with Edward on his saxophone;that would be brilliant. We are thinking about you lots and send you, Emily,Mummy and Daddy all our love.
Keep smiling Mima and hope to see you all soon.
Lots of love
Pete,Caroline,Edward, Annabelle and Eloise xx

Hi Mima, you won't know who i am, but i knew your mummy and daddy a long time ago, actually, i think Emily was a small baby when i last saw your mum at the Lawson-Dick's house. Your Mummy grew up with my children's daddy - Justin Marsham, and i think you know Sophie Wakely, (Saskia, Poppy and Noah's Mum) my sis in law (Justin's sis, Lucy Pover's dear friend). anyway, i've been hearing about your story through Sophie, you see, how about that, you're famous down here in London! I've been hearing how brave and strong you are, and how wonderful and supportive your family is, and after reading your fabulous blog, it's clear Sophie's right about all that! your photos are beautiful, keep that gorgeous smile going as much as you can, it's one of the best remedies - i was diagnosed with a cancer 5 years ago, which has all gone away now, and i honestly found that staying smiley and reminding myself of all the good and fun stuff in life kept me strong and got me better, i mean that, it's true.

listen, i have an idea, i've been reading about all these wonderful charity events that people have been doing to raise money to help you, now, i'm a big sucker for charity runs, and i live down here in sunny London where there are LOTS of people who, i'm sure, would be more than happy to don their running shoes to raise some wonga, so why don't you ask Mummy to give me a call, and perhaps, with her guidance, we can organise a sponsored run down here for you? why not ask mummy to email me @ help@igirlfriday.com and we can put our thinking caps on?

cool - Rebecca x

Hi Mima!!
How lovely to have you back on line again, I can not imagine how horrible that it all must have been, but once again your wondeful positive spirit bounces right back. Good Girl... you are a star!!
I saw your mum last week and she looked as gorgeous as ever, if a little skinny! I think that she needs that Pizza as much as you do! (Only joking Polly!!!)
We ran two Ladies Lunches to raise money for Breast Care last week, and raised £750 altogether, how cool is that? So you can count me in for any fund raising escapades you come up with!! Although I am not sure how I would feel about a parachute jump, or anything that scarey, I'm a bit old for that kind of thing??!!
Any way, I do hope that you keep feeling bettter, and that the bad bits are fewer and fewer, and disappear into to nothingness very soon.
With your fabulous smile how can they not?
I do hope we see you soon, and when you do decide to come for that Pizza, be sure that mummy lets me know, so that I can be there to make a fuss of you, it is, after all, what I do best!
My mobile number is 0792 1500 787, call me!
Lots of love to you from us,
Sarah xxxx and Lino and The Girls too! xxx
