Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Monday 15th October 2007

Mima has not had a very good weekend. She came in to hospital for a blood transfusion on Saturday and just after the 2nd bag went up she suffered a brain seizure and had a fit. She had a CT scan which showed no bleed in her brain but the doctors are concerned she may have encephalitis as she did not recover as they would have hoped. She is now on antibiotics and antivirals and we will wait and see what happens. She may have an MRI scan and another CT scan this week to see what is going on.
So it looks like she will be in hospital for a little while yet. She is however, bright and cheery and desperate to go horse riding again.
I will keep you posted.
