Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Nasal Tube Nightmare

We went to hospital yesterday and saw Dr Madi. He had some good news and some bad news for us. The good news is that I am well, the bad news is that i am too skinny and i have to have a nasal tube fitted which i have never had before aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the good news about that is that I can have all my meds in my tube so i won't have to swallow them any more and i will have a feed overnight on a pump so it doesn't matter if i don't eat at all!!!!!!! yippie!!!!

Now I know you are all waiting to know about todays big excitement ....................................my violin lesson!!!!!! yeah!!!! It was really fun and i hope mr roberts is listening to me now and sylvia (his wife) as i have been playing since i got home. If anyone would like to hear me just let me know and i will ring you and play you a tune.

Dear Jemima
what a brave little girl you are and how kind of you to share your thoughts and feelings with people.
I recieved a letter today in my sons school bag from your school asking for sponsorship for Mel Brocklebank when she does the Great Kibworth half marathon.I work at the LRI and know how the ward has been trying to sort out a special chef for all the children who find it difficult to eat when having thier treatment so I will be happy to sponsor Mel for this worth while cause, James my son has said he will also sponsor her with a month of his pocket money.
Keep up the violin lessons and good luck with the nasal tube!!!!it will help
regards
Judy (Mum of James Queally)

So pleased Dr Madi had some good news for you and once you have the tube fitted the skinniness will be sorted out I'm sure.

Hello brave girl,
Dr Madi's good news is great. I'm sure the tube is a bit of a drag but it must be difficult to keep eating when you don't really want to so hopefully it will give you a bit more energy for your violin practice. We are really pleased to hear that you are going to school so much, you are a very determined girl. We think about you alot and Henry sends you an extra big kiss.
Lots of love, Helena, Tom, Henry and Alice xxxx
PS. Tom wants to know if you will now be calling him Uncle Winner after the cricket, I've told him not to get his hopes up!

Mima

You seem very excited about the violin lessons which is fantastic, and it is even better to hear that you are having the tube fitted and then hopefully you'll have more energy .... and..... you won't have to taste that yukky medicine.

You look incredibly well in your latest photo, and very happy also, so being back at school can't be too bad!

lots of love, Helen, Jon, Thomas and Rebeccaxxxx

Mima I am so pleased that you won't have to go through taking that bad tasting medicine any more. I'm also wondering if there is anyone in the Guinness Book of Records for eating, drinking and playing the violin all at the same time!! We can't wait to hear you play..Uncle Simon xx

Dear Mima
I had the strangest week last week.
My mum was away at a course and my dad was working his head off,so I
had to stay at my freind Freddy
Austin's for three nights.Luckily
I slept two nights at my house. Bad luck on the nasal tube. Did you hear about my dad having a gumshield to stop his snoring?

love henry

Dear Mima,
I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to "do" a comment!! The truth is that I am a bit of a technophobe.. I am not so good at modern technology!
Lucia, Elisa and I have loved reading your web site and entries. The web site is so pretty.
We think that you are amazing!
Your photos are so beautiful, always smiling, and so positive!
I saw your mum the other evening and she looks beautiful too!
And then I saw Emily too the other day... and she is beautiful as well.
What a lucky fellow your dad is!
My big worry is that I shall miss you when I am doing the head dresses at the ballet show this year! You know what a big joker I am, and I do need someone to joke back!
Do you think that you will come and watch it? I do hope so.
I would love to see you.
Maybe you will come to our new restaurnat, Boboli, sometime, the Pizza's are wicked, and your uncle Matt sorted out some lovely out door furniture for me.
Any way I must go to work now, so I hope that I shall see you soon.
With our love
Sarah, Lino, Lucia & Elisa xxxxx

Hi Jemima
We are so pleased that the doctor thinks that you are doing so well. The nasal tube is not so great but will give you lots of energy so that you can play your violin particularly loud and squeaky for mummy and daddy!!! Your mummy told me that the best time to practice was about 6 in the morning outside their bedroom door (ha ha)

Toby has just started the saxophone - he had his second lesson this week and he is really enjoying it too. He has learnt to play Mary had a little lamb and is very proud of himself.

The only problem is that our house now gets particularly noisy when Toby plays sax, Poppy the guitar and Jessie the flute all at the same time!! I think I need to buy some ear plugs! Just think you could all start a band together!!

I hope the nasal tube is not too uncomfortable and that you start to put some weight on.

Lots of love and thinking of you lots

Unquestionably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be
on the net the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you,
I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they just do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
