Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Thursday 30th August 2007

Horrid, Horrid, Horrid!
I am back on track and started chemo again on Tuesday. It made me feel all fuzzy and hot so I didn't like it. Then in the middle of the night blllluuuurrrrr I was ill all over Mummy and Daddy's bedroom floor! I am feeling a bit better now but I have gone off my food again because the chemo makes my tummy churn. I am very tired and taking lots of tablets to stop me feeling sick. I have chemo every day at home for four days and then three days off followed by another four days of chemo at home again. This usually makes my blood count drop so I may need some blood and platelets again and I will most likely be neutropenic too.
I am really looking forward to going back to school next week and hope I will feel ok to do that. I can't wait to see all my friends again.

Hi there
so your back on trach thats good news. The trouble is that it sounds like you've hit a part of the track thats a bit bumpy this week.
Anyway you are so brave that I know that you'll get over this part as quickly as possible and have a good time when you get back to school.
Lots of love
Sue

Hi mima,
The Norths are thinking of you. We hope that Digdog Dugbum is behaving himself. We are looking after a little cocker spaniel called Truffle at the moment, she is here for correction cause she is so naughty. She doesnt rub her face in cow poo tho like someone else, mention no names!!! Looks like Dugbum's sister is coming to stay soon, do you think she likes cow poo!!???

We all hope that you are getting through this horrible time with a few of those cheeeeeky grins and look forward to seeing you when you feel better and no doubt talking for England. xx Norths

Hi Jemima,
We have been reading your blog and thinking about you lots. I hope the sickness has got a bit better by now - that sounds yucky.
Do you remember when we got into trouble for making water bombs out of plastic bags in the showers at Cannons? It was fun though...
Hope you have a better week.
Lots of love from Lola x

Hi Mima

I know how truly awful the chemo is making you feel but just stick with it - You are a very determined young lady and you will get through this!

This might be a good time to tell you about Bertie Bucket. When I was having chemo and being sick I found a bucket under the sink and he became my new best friend. His name was Bertie and if you too can find a friendly bucket, you can keep him by your bed for those sicky moments that just arrive unexpectedly in the night. You can also travel with Bertie!! (but probably not on a horse!!).

Back to school on Wednesday. I think it's time. Thomas and Rebecca are looking forward to seeing all their friends and I'm sure you are too.

I think you are being very very brave, Mima, and you are an inspiration to us all.

Lots of love, Helenxx
