Hi Everyone

My name is Jemima but everyone calls me Mima. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 13th June 2007 and had to spend just over 3 weeks in hospital. I have set up this blog so that I can keep in touch with my friends and keep you up to date with what I am doing.

WE DID IT!!! - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SUPPORTED JEMIMA INVITES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE HAVE NOW MANAGED TO BEGIN THE RESEARCH WHICH PROFESSOR MARTIN DYER WAS SO DESPERATE TO DO.

Guess where I am?????????????????????
Back in hospital!!!! but only for last night because I had some chemo yesterday and Dr Madi wanted to make sure that I didn't do that funny fainting thing again and guess what.............. I didn't so this morning I have to have some asparagus and mayonnaise injection into my leg and then I can go home.
I have been very busy since last week, I have been at Debbie's riding stables three times and helped with mucking out, giving the horses hay in the fields and leading other children around the school. It was fun but I would like to ride again now. It was Emily's birthday on Monday and she had a riding party so I lead her friends too. I am going for a day to Debbie's tomorrow and Mummy is going to stay with me whilst I learn some plaiting and oh hang on I have to go now because Rosie the nurse has come to give me my injection. Byeeeeee!!!!

Hi Mima,
Well I'm back from Las Vegas where I watched the rugby with Uncle Tim in a loud and crowded English Pub! I do hope all this dizzy stuff gets sorted out soon and you'll be able to ride again before long, but I bet the horses just love it when you feed them. It would be brilliant if you taught them how to muck out after themselves though!! Uncle Simon xxxx

bad luck being back imn hospital but not for long at least. Thank goodness you didn't have one of those funny spells.I hope that it never happens again. You are really becoming an important person at the stables you are so useful. You are getting to know the horses well and when you start riding again it will be even better than before,if thats possible. I hope Emily enjoyed her party and had a lovely birthday.

Hi Mima,
How annoying!
I just sent you a long chatty message, and it doesn't seem to have arrived safely onto the Blog!!
I really am not so good at all this technical stuff.. it's fine until it goes wrong and than I flap!!
So i am not going to type it all out again, cos I can't remember all that I said, and cos it's late, and cos it might arrive yet... delayed delivery and all that!
But I could not leave without saying "Hi", as I think that it is really important that we all keep up the blogging, so you know how much, so many of us, are thinking of you.
Hope you are home?
Hope you are feeling better, and that the dizzy spells stop.
Hope we see you at Boboli on Monday?
Love Sarah x

Hi Mima

I have just caught up with your blog and, apart from the horsey bits, what a rotten half term you have had. I think you are amazing being able to lie so still for the scan - I'd get all fidgety and itchy if I had to be still for so long.

We have just got home after going away to Norfolk for a baton twirling competition and some training for Rebecca. It was very breezy on the east coast but we also had some sunny days. It's lovely to be home despite the ten loads of washing!

It sounds as though you are well enough for school tomorrow which is great. The next half term is always such a busy but fun one.

lots of love, Helen, Jon, Thomas and Rebeccaxxxxx

Hey Mima,
Its Rach here again (megans friend from the Kibworth run...).
I just wanted to say how brave I think you are. I went into hospital this weekend to have my tonsils out, and I am feeling a bit poorly at the mo. But it made me realise just how super brave u must be and I wanted to say well done and keep it up. Its good to read about all of the fun things you have been doing as well, like designing cocktails!
Take care,
Rach xxxx

Hi Mima,

I am hoping that no news is good news and that you have been able to go to school and do lots of riding.
It was Thomas' birthday today and he was very worried that his cake was going to you!! He also asked if you were better yet and if not he would come over with his doctors bag and give you some strawberry medicine to make you feel better again, if only all medicine really tasted of strawberrys!
Hope to see you at our fireworks party on Saturday, bring some wellies!!
Lots of love Venetia XX

Hi Mima

It's Mike here - Megans dad - I keep dropping in to your website and havent heard anything for a few days so was wondering how you are - I hope you are feeling great and keeping busy - you'll never guess ? I kept reading about how much you love horse riding so I thought I should try and find out what it's like so I went! now I'm in serious need of some advice so if you can tell me how to keep on a horse without falling off that would be very helpful - I'm going out on a hack this weekend (4th lesson)to get more practice at rising trots so any help from an expert would be greatly appreciated.

Mel and Megs send their love too
